What a disgusting attempt at a power grab by physician assistants in Indiana. This bill creates a "physician assistant licensing board" and transfers authority for PA licensing to it, effectively allowing PAs to regulate themselves without physician oversight. The bill also calls for the removal of the requirement for PAs to have a collaborative agreement in place with a physician, and allows PAs to independently describe controlled substances. At this rate, they might as well add a clause to rename the PA profession to something else entirely, because under this bill they're sure as hell not going to be assisting physicians in any meaningful way.
